Tyler is a partner at the firm Skoubye Nielson & Johansen, LLC, where his primary practice deals with construction, real estate, landlord tenant issues, and general commercial litigation. Tyler also has experience in family law. His clients include contractors, land owners and developers, small businesses, and individuals. Known for obtaining favorable outcomes for clients in litigated bench and jury trials, Tyler was named to Super Lawyers’ list of top litigation attorneys in both 2014 and 2015.
Prior to joining SNJ, Tyler worked as a litigation associate for the Park City law firm of Wrona Law Offices.
Tyler received his BS from the University of Utah in Environmental Studies in 2001, and his JD from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2005, where he emphasized in real estate, environmental law and land use. During law school, Tyler served as an editor for the Oregon Law Review. In addition, he worked for two years as a law clerk with the litigation section of Hutchinson, Cox, Coons, DuPriest, Orr & Sherlock. Tyler also spent two summers as a law clerk for the United States Department of Justice Environmental and Natural Resources Division in Denver, Colorado, where he was involved in representing the Federal Government in disputes pertaining to timber sales, water rights, land use, and compliance issues.
Tyler is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the State of Utah. He is a member of the Litigation, Construction and Family Law sections of the Utah State Bar.
Tyler was raised in Grants Pass, Oregon, where he graduated high school. He and his wife have four children.
